Just when I thought it was time to get my Netflix subscription back, the news broke that the price will once again increase for one of its best subscription tiers.
Before you panic too much though, UK readers might be in the clear for the time being as this is seemingly affecting the US first, not a great week across the pond is it…
There are some cracking video game-related series on Netflix right now, like this Tomb Raider one
Netflix now has a variety of different memberships, the basic tiers being streaming but with adverts and the higher tiers including no ads and the option to have multiple devices use the same account.

The streaming service had a major crackdown on password sharing last year, something that’s still rubbed many users the wrong way in 2025.
For those subscribing to the Premium tier in the states, you’ll now be paying $25 a month, not ideal, but the other tiers are unaffected for the time being.
Also unaffected for the time being are Netflix users in Europe, as no mention of a price increase has been mentioned for us, but keep an eye out as one might follow.
Speaking about the increase Netflix said: "As we continue to invest in programming and deliver more value for our members, we will occasionally ask our members to pay a little more so that we can re-invest to further improve Netflix."

As for when these changes are going into effect, it already has, the update to the cost has already gone through so for most you’ll see it on your next billing day.
Hopefully this change doesn’t come to other parts of the world too, as Netflix has gotten into a nasty habit of increasing the price repeatedly throughout the year and it doesn’t feel like it’s being reflected in the shows we’ve been getting.
