Marvel is adapting one of the best Spider-Man stories for the MCU and fans understandably lose it.
The story in question is being adapted from the classic comic book series, The Amazing Spider-Man: Identity Crisis. This eight-part story was originally printed by Marvel Comics in June 1998, and now it's on the way to the MCU.

Without giving too much away, in Identity Crisis, Norman Osborn aka Green Goblin provokes Spider-Man into attacking him while he captures the incriminating footage on camera. This was after Osborn framed Spider-Man for murdering the Trapster.

Furthermore, Osborn then slaps a $5 million bounty on the Friendly Neighbourhood hero, which means that Peter Parker cannot be seen as Spider-Man in public, which in turn means that he can’t save the people of New York City without the NPD on his case.
So to counter angry residents and the NPD, Peter Parker creates four new costumes to go unnoticed and continue to be the hero that he was destined to be because he’s nice like that.

At the most recent D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, future projects were teased which include the aforementioned The Amazing Spider-Man: Identity Crisis. “ Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man” posted by Reddit user Louis_DCVN with a photo of a D23 stage featuring some glorious Marvel artwork.
“Oh wow, so we’re getting Identity Crisis? Nice,” asked girlsgoneoscarwilde. “Is that why there are several different suits in the front row? The only one I recognise aside from the "normal" suit is the Future Foundation one,” replied Daddysu.
To which bosslickspittle explained: “Yes, those costumes were from an arc in the 90s where Peter takes on different superhero identities because Spider-Man is so hated... or framed for a crime.”
No solid release date has been announced for The Amazing Spider-Man: Identity Crisis but we can’t wait to see this tale brought to life in the MCU.
