If you were to ask Marvel fans who their favourite characters are, the chances are that many would say Spider-Man and if that sounds like you, then you might be pleased to hear of this beautiful MCU teaser.
In 2002, we were arguably given one of the best Marvel live-action adaptations of all time with Spider-Man directed by Sam Raimi starring Tobey Maguire as the friendly neighbourhood hero which would later spawn two more sequels.

Then in 2012, it would be Andrew Garfield’s opportunity to play Peter Parker from Forest Hills, Queens in New York which also received a sequel with The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in 2014.

The friendly neighbourhood hero mantle now belongs to Tom Holland in the MCU and while fans wait for news on Spider-Man 4, they can look forward to Marvel’s 85-year celebration which will include some stunning comic cover variants of his version of Spidey.
Marvel has announced that various variant covers are on the way created by Marvel Studios’ head of visual development, Ryan Meinerding and will not only include the MCU Spider-Man but also Moon Knight, Thanos, Incredible Hulk, Thor and Vision as well as the Avengers as a whole.
The comic variants are artwork taken from Marvel Studios: The Art of Ryan Meinerding and will begin to arrive on 4 September with Immortal Thor #15. Followed by Avengers Assemble #1 on 11 September, Incredible Hulk #17 and Avengers #18 on 18 September, and finally, Phases of the Moon Knight #2 and Avengers Annual on 25 September.

However, Spidey will be receiving two variant covers inspired by the MCU with Amazing Spider-Man #57 (11 September) and Amazing Spider-Man #58 (25 September).
All of the celebratory comic book issues will be available wherever you buy your physical comics or via digital apps such as Marvel Unlimited. As for Marvel Studios: The Art of Ryan Meinerding, that is available to pre-order now ahead of its launch on 1 October 2024.
