The next Spider-Man film will reportedly begin filming in May 2025, giving us a hint as to when we could see it reach the big-screen.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is going to make history when it releases Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4, the first time a live-action Spidey has received a fourth film, though Tobey Maguire got awfully close.
Spider-Man isn’t the only wall-crawler returning to our screens though. It’s Venom’s final battle in Venom: The Last Dance.
That being said, fans are mixed on the right way to do it, as it’s said Marvel Studios is pushing for a more grounded Spider-Man story whereas Sony wants Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire back for another multiversal adventure.

Now it’s been said that filming begins sometime in May 2025, and will run for approximately six months until October.
That means the film’s release could happen in either 2026, which will likely give us the best indication of whether it’s a multiverse story or not as it’ll be somewhere around the next two Avengers films.
It could be the case that the film takes a similar approach to Antman and The Wasp, where it’s released during the Avengers hype but tells a story set before the events of the films, with a post-credit scene that brings Spider-Man back into the larger story.
Honestly, anything could happen at this point, it’s the MCU after all, but personally I’m hoping we finally get a story where Peter fights a street-level threat, has a little team-up with Daredevil, but otherwise solves the problem by himself without help from other heroes, including other Spider-People.

Who knows what’s on the cards for the MCU’s take on Peter Parker, but knowing our web-slinger’s luck, it probably isn’t going to go well for him, especially when Doctor Doom rocks up at the end.
