The MCU intends to take the X-Men reboot in a new direction, if these casting rumours are to be trusted.
It’s been far too long since we got an X-Men film that the whole Marvel fandom can get behind.
Now that Wolverine has officially joined the MCU, now is the time for the rest of those popular mutants to make their way to Disney.

Last week, I reported on a major casting update that’s been dividing the MCU fandom, and now I have more to add to that story.
The X-Men is headed in a new direction, with Marvel reportedly casting actors in their mid-twenties to take on the iconic roles.

Jeff Sneider and Daniel Richtman, both of whom you’ll know well by now, are behind this latest update.

Not only are younger actors in the running for the lead roles in the new X-Men film, but Marvel has yet to find a director to lead the project.
Richtman also claims that the film will take place after the events of Avengers: Secret Wars.
I think I speak for all Marvel fans when I say it’ll be a special moment when both the Avengers and X-Men are seen together on the big screen.
When Marvel’s Kevin Feige was asked about that happening, he spoke of how “emotional” it would be.

Even though we don’t have any actors confirmed for the MCU’s X-Men, it feels like only a matter of time before such an announcement is made.
Much like with any sort of change, we suspect that some fans will dislike seeing new faces in these well-known roles.
We’ve all seen how unsure people are about the new Thor...
But pining for the past gets you nowhere. What is more, what comes next might be even better than what’s gone before.

Regardless of your personal feelings, this X-Men reboot is an exciting project still finding its feet.
