A reboot of the X-Men, while a highly anticipated development in the MCU, appears to have forgotten one of its most recognised members.
Marvel’s acquisition of Fox Studios means that it can turn its attention to relaunching the X-Men series.
Although the brand has steadily started to introduce well known X-Men characters into the MCU, there’s still no sign of that big cinematic debut.

Fans may need to get used to a new Charles Xavier at the helm after one Marvel star suggests a new Professor X is on the way.
This isn’t the only change they’ll need to get used to.
Daniel Richtman, an established industry insider, has claimed that the initial plans for the X-Men reboot don’t include Wolverine.
“I hear the current treatment for the MCU X-Men reboot does not include Wolverine at all,” The Direct revealed Richtman said via his Patreon.

A new Wolverine has been rumoured for quite some time; although fans adore Hugh Jackman, they agree that they could see the new Wolverine in the role “forever”.
But now it seems that a different actor taking on the role isn’t necessary at all.
Does this mean we won’t see Jackman again, though? Richtman claims otherwise.
“[The] rest of the [X-Men] team is similar to the X-Men ‘97 cartoon plus some. But no Wolverine because Hugh Jackman is sticking around for now. Likely even post [Avengers] Secret Wars,” he added.

Despite being happy news for Jackman fans, the idea of an X-Men reboot without Wolverine feels controversial.
Not that Marvel is unfamiliar with controversial casting choices; Spider-Man 4 may have found its Miles Morales, and with that news comes a heated debate over the actor in the lead to play the young Spider-Man.
For now, no Wolverine in the MCU’s X-Men reboot is speculation, at least until we’re told otherwise.
