MCU fans lose it as Thanos makes his return in epic teaser

MCU fans lose it as Thanos makes his return in epic teaser

It's time to face off against the Mad Titan yourself

It was a busy ol’ weekend for Disney, with the company holding D23 Brazil - A Disney Experience in São Paulo.

As such, many fruitful announcements came to light.

Fans were treated to fresh looks at Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts*, while Lucasfilm dropped the premiere date of Andor’s second season - 22 April 2025, if you were wondering.

There is one thing I was hoping to receive an update on that seemingly didn’t surface.

At the main D23 event, held earlier this summer in California, Marvel Studios quietly announced the return of the MCU’s Thanos.

‘How did I miss this?’ I hear you ask.

Well, you’d have to have watched the Disney Parks panel - not the Marvel Studios panel.

That’s right. Visitors to Disneyland Resort in California will soon have the opportunity to come face-to-face with The Mad Titan in Avengers Infinity Defense.

Captain America: Brave New World will land in cinemas on 14 February 2025.

Avengers Infinity Defense sees Thanos steal tech from the Avengers, allowing him to jump between worlds, wreaking havoc.

You’re recruited, alongside some familiar faces, to put a stop to him in a journey that’ll take you to New York, Asgard, and Wakanda.

It goes without saying that Thanos will prove to be a formidable foe.

When the ride was announced, concept art of the big bad was released, showing Thanos sporting some new armour and wielding a double-ended sword.

“Thanos looks COLD AF,” declared one fan on Twitter.

I was hoping imagineers at the latest iteration of D23 might have an update on the status of the ride, but that doesn’t appear to be the case.

At the current moment in time, there’s no planned opening date - or even window - for Avengers Infinity Defense, so you might want to put a pause on your next Disney trip.

Or it’s an excuse for an extra trip. You do you.

This ride is currently planned only for Avengers Campus in Disneyland Resort in California.

Hopefully, it may eventually be replicated in other Avengers Campuses around the world.

Yes, that’s me manifesting it reaches Disneyland Paris, my home park.
