MCU fans lose it as Marvel shows off Avengers replacement in new trailer

MCU fans lose it as Marvel shows off Avengers replacement in new trailer

Another team joins the MCU

The Avengers, also known as Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, are in disarray at the moment, so Marvel is putting together new teams to save the day.

While there have been several groups of heroes to grace the comic books like the X-Men, New Avengers, Inhumans etc, it’s the Thunderbolts that’ll take the spotlight next year in a new film.

Whether the events of Captain America: Brave New World will tie into what the Thunderbolts are getting up to is a question we can’t answer yet

If you don’t know who they are think of the Suicide Squad from DC but for Marvel instead.

They’re an elite task force featuring several villains/anti-heroes who’ll be given a chance to save the world and get the glory or redemption they’ve been craving.

The MCU’s Thunderbolts is composed of Yelena from Black Widow, Bucky Barnes AKA The Winter Soldier, Ghost from Antman And The Wasp, Red Guardian, Taskmaster and US Agent.

While a full trailer for the upcoming film hasn’t been shown off just yet, we have seen glimpses of it through Marvel’s latest 85th anniversary celebration video, where we also got a look at Daredevil: Born Again.

It was quite an emotional trailer as it also touched on the origins of Marvel and the late Stan Lee’s contribution to the art form.

The small glimpse we had of The Thunderbolts showed the team fully-formed and in an elevator of some kind, with Bucky as presumably the team leader, possibly alongside Yelena.

Very little was said by fans in the comment section, but when the roster has been teased in other places like X many fans have criticised the choice of characters, believing ones like Taskmaster and Ghost should have had their spots filled by someone else.

The Thunderbolts film will release sometime in 2025, and could potentially set-up some kind of stand-off or team-up with The Avengers depending on what they get up to.
