MCU fans heartbroken as old Steve Rogers’ fate quietly teased

MCU fans heartbroken as old Steve Rogers’ fate quietly teased

We're not ready

Looks like Steve Rogers’ time is up in the MCU.

When we last saw Rogers, he was an old man, happy to give up his shield to enjoy the quiet life.

We’d say his rest is well earned.

It's a Brave New World out there, are you ready for it?

Even though we didn't expect to see Rogers as Captain America again, few Marvel fans are ready to say that final farewell. Sadly, they may have to do just that if the latest Brave New World teaser has revealed what we fear it has.

In the Captain America: Brave New World trailer, there’s a brief clip of a military funeral. Given Rogers’ past, fans believe this “solemn military funeral” is to mark his passing.

Using a still of the shot in question, user negirahul asked, “Will Captain America: Brave New World feature death of Steve Rogers?”

Fans aren’t certain it’s Rogers in the coffin, however, they agree that his should be a peaceful send-off.

“Him passing away peacefully and having a quiet ceremony before the show starts makes the most sense to me,” said GenGaara25.

Others believe the funeral can’t be for Rogers because it isn’t big enough. Plus, a certain someone is missing from the crowd.

“If this is Steve's funeral, Bucky would absolutely be there. Nothing would have kept him away. And since we know he's not going to be in this movie, his absence would make zero sense,” argued UpbeatAd5343.

Even those who don’t believe it’s Rogers’ funeral are still heartbroken by the idea that the OG Captain America is gone.

As much as Chris Evans needs a break from that character, he’s become the face of the MCU. Second only to Robert Downey Jr, and he’s coming back anyway.

If this is how we learn of Rogers’ death, we’ll definitely need a box of tissues at the ready.
