Marvel fans rejoice, it looks like we’ll be seeing the MCU’s Doctor Strange 3 sooner than we initially thought.
Doctor Strange is one of the most powerful and compelling heroes in the world of Marvel Comics, so when the first MCU movie arrived in 2016 starring the then Sorcerer Supreme, it was met with high expectations, and I think it’s fair to say that Benedict Cumberbatch more than delivered portraying the role.

In 2022, the stakes were raised in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, when Stephen Vincent Strange had to battle with the Scarlet Witch with the fate of not only our universe in his hands but so too were all the others (no pressure).

I am about to venture into spoilers for the post-credit scenes of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, so Marvel fans, consider this to be your last spoiler warning.
During the post-credit scenes, due to meddling with the Darkhold, Doctor Strange develops the creepy-looking third eye indicating that he is now connected to the dark arts more than ever.
He is then approached by Clea (Charlize Theron), daughter of Umar, niece of Dormammu and ruler of the Dark Dimension. She seeks Doctor Strange’s help due to his actions in the Multiverse of Madness causing an incursion, which spells nothing but doom for us all.
We are then teased with the words “Doctor Strange will return” but nearly three years have passed since that moment and there is no announcement of Doctor Strange 3. However, news on the third movie might be around the next corner.

As reported by CBM.com via Daniel Richtman (locked behind Patreon), along with Shang-Chi 2, it’s claimed that Doctor Strange 3 will begin filming at some point in 2026 with Sam Raimi returning to direct.
Before filming reportedly begins on the set of Doctor Strange 3, Benedict Cumberbatch confirmed that he’ll begin shooting his scenes for Avengers: Doomsday this year.
“This is Doctor Strange,” said Cumberbatch . “He's a Marvel character and, well, I'll be really honest about it, the joy of playing him is immense.”
He continued: “I love playing him. He's great fun. I'm very much looking forward to Avengers next year which is cooking up a storm.”
