Marvel knows that Spider-Man is big business for them, with him always being one of the most popular characters on their roster.

While we have Tom Holland swinging through the MCU on the big screen, Peter Parker is soon appearing on Disney+ in a new animation project.

Marvel Studios has a big year coming up on Disney+

Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man is set to debut in just a few days for subscribers of Disney+ and Marvel has confirmed already that we’re due to get many more adventures.

According to TheMoviePodcast, a third season of the show has already been greenlit, meaning we’ll get a lot more of Spider-Man over the coming years.

Marvel Studios’ Brad Winderbaum confirmed the news on the podcast, saying that he’s soon meeting with writer Jeff Trammell to hear the pitch for the season.

Of course, we haven’t even seen an episode of the show as yet, but if Disney and Marvel are excited about it, you better be sure that we are too.

The show will focus on the early years of Spider-Man’s heroic career, with Peter Parker struggling through school as he balances his life of fighting crime.

There’s a fear that Marvel may be getting ahead of themselves, given they have no audience feedback as yet.

However, big animations like these need a lot of time to cook, so it’s no shock they’re betting big.

As one Twitter user said, “Being green lit for three seasons before the show even comes out is crazy.”

Using a cel-shaded style of animation, Spider-Man will be battling classic enemies and meeting some new characters as the show progresses.

With Colman Domingo and Charlie Cox signed on to voice Norman Osborn and Matt Murdock respectively, there’s some star power behind the show.

We’ll be tuning in on 29 January to watch the first episode and see how the new adventures pan out.
