Marvel fans are torn over the potential recasting of Black Panther’s T’Challa in an upcoming MCU movie.
The late great, Chadwick Boseman played T’Challa in Captain America: Civil War (2016), Black Panther (2018), Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019) before passing away following a battle with colon cancer in 2020.

However, Chadwick Boseman would make one final surprise and heartwarming appearance in the MCU, in the Disney Plus series, What…if? season one, episode two ‘What if… T’Challa Became a Star Lord?’

In 2022’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, other than being a fantastic movie in its own right, it felt like an opportunity for fans to come to terms with the passing of Chadwick Boseman and that aspect was handled wonderfully by Marvel and Disney.
The Black Panther movie saga will continue, so whoever is cast to play the new Black Panther, certainly has big shoes to fill. Some may have assumed that T’Challa’s sister, Shuri (played by Letitia Wright) would take up the role but that appears not to be the case.
I am about to mention spoilers for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, so consider this to be your final spoiler warning.
Rumours have been making the rounds that Marvel and Disney will soon look to cast a new Black Panther and being such a sensitive topic for fans, it will no doubt prove to be somewhat controversial.

Whoever is cast as the new Black Panther, will play the role in a third movie of the series as well as two Avengers movies. During a post-credit scene of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, we learned that T’Challa has a secret son named Toussaint (played by Divine Love Konadu-Sun).

No names have been mentioned at this time on who’ll be the next Black Panther but it’s believed that T’Challa’s son could be the one to take up the role, according to Twitter user and entertainment insider, MyTimeToShineH.
Naturally, responding to a tweet from another industry insider, Jeff Sneider, fans have voiced their opinions.
“Michael B. Jordan is perfect for the role,” said star_rocket24. That would be a good shout, but without giving too much away, events in Black Panther (2018) could provide some complications.
“It better be Aldis Hodge. I know he’s older but he can play a younger version if need be,” TheRealZach3 replied.

“I assume this will be a T’Challa from a different universe?” asked tydriscoll7.
“If true, I would love to see John David Washington as T’Challa,” suggests CoachMiller1981.
Hopefully, Marvel and Disney will reveal plans for Black Panther 3 in the coming months and we’ll keep you updated when we learn more.
