We’re slowly nearing the end of this latest phase in the MCU, where it will all come to a head in Avengers: DOOMSDAY and Avengers: Secret Wars.
While we don’t know how those films will play out, we do know that Marvel wants to put a focus on the X-Men after the events of those films and usher in the mutant saga.
What will the MCU look like when the X-Men arrive?
Back at D23 Brazil, several months ago, Kevin Feige made a comment that has some fans fearing the future of the MCU.

His words were, “the X-Men will be important to the MCU after the events of ‘Avengers: Secret Wars.’”
The possibilities for Marvel are endless, with the chance to have the Avengers, X-Men, and The Fantastic Four all in the same creative world.
Some fans worry that the Avengers will be pushed to the side in favour of the X-Men.
On Reddit, one fan said, “I would hope it’s not a “one or the other” situation where the avengers are completely gone and the X-men replace them.”

BuzzardOaks explains their wants for the merging of heroes, saying, “I don’t think there should be a ‘Mutant Saga’ there should just be mutants from here until the end of the MCU.”
I can’t see them being separated from each other, that’s not really how Marvel Studios operates, as they always have an eye on massive crossovers.
The studio built towards Avengers: Endgame, now they’re working towards Avengers: Secret Wars.
It’s highly likely that the X-Men will appear in their own things until the need to crossover comes, possibly in an Avengers Vs X-Men event.

With the possibility of having all these characters in one place, one Redditor notes, “It’s something we’ve never seen, and comic book fans have been waiting decades for it.”
The future is bright for Marvel, let’s just hope the fans are pleased when it all comes together.
