Marvel fans unhappy with Scarlet Witch's MCU return

It's not what anyone wants

According to a source at Cosmic Circus, the fate of Scarlet Witch returning to the MCU has already been planned out and fans aren’t happy.

The last we saw Scarlet Witch she was under a truckload of rubble after pulling down a mountain but we all know she’s waiting in the wings for a return to the MCU.

It has been discussed that Scarlet Witch will return in Avengers: DOOMSDAY to pair up with Doctor Doom to “Undo the mistakes she made while reading the Darkhold.”

When reported on Reddit, fans were troubled by this path for one of the MCU’s most interesting characters.

“I can't wait for her to be an emotionally uninteresting minion for the big bad who won't actually get defeated proper until the second movie,” says the top comment on the thread.

This sentiment is echoed by Magic_SnakE_ who said, “So... she's just going to get used by yet another villain? This sounds awful and stupid and I don't like it at all.”

It’s pretty clear that everyone wants her to have a redemption arc. We all know what she did during Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness and it was driven by despair and grief, it’s time to let her redeem herself.

However, maybe this is where the idea is going - she gets lured in by Doctor Doom before turning on him and going back to The Avengers.

The problem is her being a minion for another ‘Big Bad.’

“It's repetitive and makes her look stupid,” said deemoorah, who has a point. This isn’t the first time and it’s already a bit played out.

Wanda’s story is filled with heart and emption currently, so to see her fall in with another villain seems wrong.

It appears many fans want her to regain her family and sense of self to become the badass Avenger we all know she is.
