Marvel fans surprised as our MCU Blade officially debuts in new trailer

Disney just released a brand new Marvel trailer that features a blink and you'll miss it shot of Blade

Blade will finally be making his way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, following his reveal in a new teaser trailer.

And yes, before you say anything, we all know Wesley Snipes’ Blade was in Deadpool & Wolverine. That’s not the Blade we’re on about here though.

Disney recently shared a teaser trailer that actually serves as a combined showcase of several different upcoming MCU projects, including Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, Ironheart, Eyes of Wakanda, Wonder Man, Marvel Zombies and Daredevil: Born Again.

Side note, oh my god Daredevil: Born Again looks awesome. Just when I think I’m done with the MCU, they pull me back in.

Sorry, anyway, Blade (or at least a version of Blade) actually shows up at the 1:01 mark in the trailer as part of the Marvel Zombies teaser.

You might not recognise him at first however, as this Blade seems to be taking some fashion tips from Moon Knight.

Blade and Moon Knight weren’t exactly key players in the original Marvel Zombies comic, so it doesn’t seem that this connection is based on anything featured in the comics.

Why exactly Khonshu has chosen Blade to take over the role of the Fist of Khonshu is still a mystery, but I won’t deny that it’s not cool.

Blade and Moon Knight have crossed paths several times in the comics though, usually as a result of some Dracula-related nonsense, so perhaps this is just a send-up of that.

Although nothing has been confirmed, I highly doubt Mahershala Ali will be the one voicing Blade in Marvel Zombies.

A lot of the original MCU cast members don’t voice their respective characters in What If…? (mostly likely because it would be too expensive to hire them to do so) so it stands to reason that Ali probably won’t be coming back to voice Blade either.

You’ll probably have to wait for the live-action MCU Blade film for that to happen. Your guess is as good as mine in regards to whenever that’ll happen though.
