Marvel fans heartbroken as Disney quietly cancelled beloved TV series

Marvel fans heartbroken as Disney quietly cancelled beloved TV series

It's a shame for the fans

Marvel’s push into television has been a mixed bag with so many projects ending at just one season due to underwhelming reception.

This has included titles such as She-Hulk, Secret Invasion, and Echo all being canned by Marvel and Disney.

Marvel's live-action shows seem to be picking up if Agatha All Along is anything to go by

With so many shows coming out, it was bound to happen eventually, and now the cancellation train has stopped at Moongirl and Devil Dinosaur.

At least this wonderful animation got more than one season onto our screens before it was cancelled though.

According to an insider who announced the news via Twitter, the show will not be returning for a third outing.

It’s a shame to see as this show, while being aimed at kids, had a broad appeal and it was constantly stunning to watch.

With gorgeous visuals, Moongirl and Devil Dinosaur often stood out in a sea of more bland shows coming from Disney.

One Twitter user sees nothing but doom and gloom with this decision from the Houe of Mouse, “Oh god. This decade is becoming the Dark Age of Animation, now we need to wait until the 2030's for another Renaissance of Animation.”

The animation apocalypse isn’t only reserved for Marvel properties, however, as another Twitter user points out, “First The Ghost and Molly McGee, Then Hailey's On It, Now MoonGirl And Devil Dinosaur! The Average lifespan of Disney Channel animation is slowly declining!”

In response to the initial tweet, artist Gabi Rode seemingly confirmed the news saying, “What sucks is that a bunch of us at Disney knew about this for so long but couldn’t outright say it. The [Moongirl and Devil Dinosaur] production area was a ghost town for over a year."

Despite a devoted fanbase, revolutionary visuals, and often funny plotlines, the world of animation is difficult to survive within, even for Marvel heroes.
