Marvel fans think the role of Black Panther in the MCU should have been recast, continuing T’Challa’s story.
The tragic passing of Chadwick Boseman posed a problem for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as his role of Black Panther was an important one in the film franchise’s mythos, and there were many stories that could still be told.

A solution was found by writing T’Challa out of the MCU and having his sister Shuri step up as the new Black Panther, a role she filled beautifully in Black Panther: Wakana Forever.

However many fans have been wondering what could have been instead, and have been pondering the idea of whether T’Challa should have lived, and just been recast instead.
In a Reddit thread, an MCU fan said “my personal opinion is that Black Panther should have been recast. There was a lot in the story of Black Panther that could have been shown in the future … the legacy of Black Panther should have been continued further like Iron Man.”
Now if this happened it wouldn’t be the first time someone has been recast in the MCU, as Rhodey/War Machine was recast in-between the first two Iron Man films, and Bruce Banner/Hulk also got a new face between The Incredible Hulk and The Avengers.
Many agreed the role should have gone to another person, with one saying: “Yes it should have been recast. That said, I liked Wakanda Forever. But it’s nonsensical to have T'challa die offscreen at the beginning of the movie.”

Some disagree though, saying “Boseman was such a perfect Black Panther, it would have been a disservice to the character” to have him replaced with another actor.
Of course it’s far too late now, but if rumours are to be believed the MCU will see a sort of reboot following Avengers: Secret Wars, so we might have new faces for quite a few characters, including Black Panther.
