Other names being thrown around have been Penn Badgley, Adam Driver and Dev Patel, all of which will now be joined by a new name, Matt Smith, who gained fame from his run as the 11th Doctor in Doctor Who.
Since he passed the key to the Tardis over to Peter Capaldi in 2013, Matt Smith has been busy, with several screen appearances in TV shows like The Crown and House of the Dragon, as well as film roles like Morbius.
According to insider Daniel Richtman, Smith was recently approached by Marvel for the role of Mr Fantastic, shortly before the SAG-AFTRA strikes. It’s unknown whether Smith has accepted the role, or if he was offered it in the first place.
The other members of the Fantastic Four are also without actors at the time of writing, though they have their own set of rumours and fan-casts. Popular choices include Margot Robbie as Susan Storm (Invisible Woman), Paul Mescal for Johnny Storm (Human Torch), and Daveed Diggs as Ben Grimm (The Thing).

The Fantastic Four will reportedly be a part of Phase Six of the MCU, with production set to begin in January 2024, so we’ll definitely have official confirmation of the cast before then, provided there are no delays.
The film is currently scheduled for release in February 2025.
