Avengers: Secret Wars may still be three years away from release but according to a one insider comment, it may take us that long to prepare ourselves for it.
Following on from Avengers: Doomsday which is set to hit cinemas in 2026, Avengers: Secret Wars will release on 7 May, 2027 with its plot still to be announced.

Reportedly starring Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, Pedro Pascal as Mister Fantastic, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova and David Harbour as Red Guardian, to name but a few, Secret Wars is already shaping up to take the box office by storm.
However, according to Marvel insider Jeff Sneider, Avengers: Secret Wars is rumoured to be split into two separate films with his source saying, “[It's] a giant five-hour movie with a year-long intermission”.
If this is true, it will make it the longest Marvel movie of all time with Avengers: Endgame coming in at not- even-a-close second at a 3 hours and 2 minutes runtime.
I don’t know about you but it’s only so long that I can sit still in a cinema and, despite a year-long intermission, it still feels a bit excessive.

However, this has not been confirmed and with Secret Wars not having even begun filming, plans could change over the next couple of years.
That being said, it sounds like this possible runtime is proving decisive by fans and they took to the Culture Crave Twitter account to share their thoughts.
“You don’t have to watch it if you don’t want to,” one comment read.
“People b**ching like Feige is going to force them into the theater.”

Another said: “Of course it’s gonna be two films. So much happens!”
With Avengers: Doomsday being first up on 1 May, 2026, we still have a few MCU projects to go before we prepare our butts for a whole lot of sitting.
