Despite the Harry Potter series showing us a glimpse of our favourite characters twenty years after the Battle of Hogwarts, it is brief to say the least and fans have always been eager to hear more about their lives free of Voldemort.
We of course know that Ron and Hermione finally got married, as did Harry and Ginny and the couples had their fair share of children, albeit with questionable names.

Fans also got a glimpse of Draco and his family and since the Harry Potter series ended, author J.K. Rowling has released information surrounding their lives two decades later.

However, the fate of one character after Deathly Hallows has left fans feeling divided.
Despite Ron Weasley initially expressing plans to follow in Harry’s footsteps in becoming an Auror, it seems as though his life took him elsewhere as he joined forces with George to run Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes.
However, he was an Auror for a while beforehand.
This change of career left some fans feeling confused but it would make sense considering George would have been running the shop alone after the death of their brother.

Nevertheless, the topic was discussed over on r/harrypotter with fans coming together to share their take on Ron’s future.
“I am surprisingly ok with Ron only being an Auror for a few years and then working at Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes,” the original post read.
“I get why having to take part in a war (in which he lost family members) as a teenager, and immediately diving into the cleanup could make him miserable.
I think the war would have forced Ron to reevaluate what mattered most to him. Ron loves his family more than anything, which is probably why he quit after a few years.”

User lordwigham agreed, saying, “Yeah - I think Ron only wanted to be Auror because Moody/Barty Jr. told Hermione and Harry they should consider this career choice, and he didn't want to be left out. That's why he focused solely on that.”
However, datavinci didn’t share the same sentiment.
“In my opinion, I like to think Ron always had Harry's back. So that would be one of the primary reasons he followed Harry in becoming an Auror and his second in command when Harry became the head of Aurors.
Plus he always liked the fame.

While I do get he loves his family, Ron was never that kind of guy who would stay back and be a work-from-home dad kind. He needs something to be busy, so in my head canon, he starts at Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes and then becomes an Auror after seeing Harry do it.”
