Harry Potter officially returning to the big-screen with original stars

The Golden Trio are back

2025 is already shaping up to be a great year for Harry Potter fans following the news that the original movie series is officially returning to the big-screen.

It has already been an exciting month for Harry Potter fans after Warner Bros. announced that a Hogwarts Legacy 2 sequel was on the way, as well as an extended version of the 2023 RPG.

With fans being able to return to Hogwarts via a video game, it has now been revealed that they will also be able to return via the big screen as of tomorrow.

Announced by Fandango, Warner Bros. will be re-releasing the hit movie series in cinemas as of 13 February, starting with Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (or Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, depending on where you are from).

This will be the first time that the movie has been in cinemas since it was first released back in 2001 and it also, of course, marks the start of the series which will span across another seven movie entries.

Starring Daniel Radcliffe as the titular Harry Potter, he is joined by Rupert Grint and Emma Watson as well as some of the late-great actors, Robbie Coltrane, Richard Harris, Maggie Smith, and Alan Rickman.

Based on the book series by J.K. Rowling, the story kicks off when the seemingly normal Harry discovers that he is a wizard and must attend Hogwarts in order to learn more about the magical world that exists around him.

However, he soon discovers that he has been hunted since birth by evil wizard Voldermort, which is all you need when you already have to deal with schoolwork.

Seriously, what grown man has that much beef with a toddler?

Anyway, on top of the official return of the original movies, we also have the Harry Potter HBO series to look forward to which reportedly begins filming later this year.
