Harry Potter HBO series teaser confirms character we never got in the movies

Time for mischief

HBO’s Harry Potter reboot is set to commence filming this year ahead of its planned 2026 release.

As such, it’s likely that we’ll start hearing much more about the show very soon, including the highly coveted reveal of its cast.

John Lithgow has already accidentally confirmed that he’s playing Dumbledore, although HBO and Warner Bros. refused to comment on the casting.

I’m assuming our new Harry, Ron, and Hermione have been found.

I do wonder how they’re all feeling as they prepare to embark on this life-changing journey.

I can’t imagine what it’ll be like for the young trio when their casting is unveiled.

All of this being said, Warner Bros. has started to drop a few snippets about what we can expect.

The idea is that each season will be dedicated to a single book instalment, giving the show the opportunity to expand on the events of the film series.

It’s been confirmed that that means we’ll be seeing Peeves brought to life for the first time.

You can watch the TV show’s short original teaser trailer below.

The official Harry Potter Instagram account teased as much.

“We’ll get to have some fun with Peeves in the corridors,” executive producers Francesca Gardiner and Mark Mylod confirmed.

If you haven’t read the Harry Potter books, Peeves is a poltergeist who enjoys causing havoc in the halls of Hogwarts.

He assists Fred and George with their various pranks, would regularly play tricks on Umbridge, and even fought against Voldemort at the Battle of Hogwarts.

He never featured in the film series, although Peeves is present in Hogwarts Legacy.

Needless to say, fans are excited to see a live-action iteration.

“I have more faith now than I did before,” said Reddit user amandaxbob.

Does this mean we’ll eventually see the SPEW storyline? I wonder how accurate the TV series will go.
