Harry Potter fans roast dementor's true appearance under the cloak

Harry Potter and the Orifice of Oddity

Have you ever wondered what a dementor looks like when you can actually see its face properly? No? Well too bad because it’s too cursed to not share.

The dementors of Harry Potter are possibly the scariest things in the franchise, scarier than Lord Voldemort himself we’d say.

They played an important role in the battle for Hogwarts seen in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

While they’re not inherently bad creatures, quite the opposite actually, they did act as a foil to Harry and his friends throughout the films, but perhaps they’d have been taken less seriously if our heroes got a good look under their cloaks.

You can see exactly what a dementor looks like without the hood on a Reddit thread, and their design isn’t as scary as you’d think, in fact it’s pretty comical all things considered.

As you may have seen the dementors have no face, only a small hole where their mouth should be that, as fans quickly pointed out, looks like a rectum, not sure what the designers were thinking with that one.

While they don’t look scary without their cloaks, what they can do remains terrifying, their whole gimmick is they can tell the good from bad and if they think you’re a criminal they’ll drain whatever happiness you have right out of your body, as we saw in the films.

With the HBO Max reboot series slowly acquiring its cast list it provides an opportunity to redesign some of the beasts and locations we saw in the films, and go further than ever.

Hopefully when the dementors do inevitably show up, likely in the third season since it’s reportedly doing season per book, hopefully they really zero in on the cosmic horror side of the creatures.

Just don’t give them a weird orifice is what I’m saying, it kind of takes away the fear factor when you do that.
