Tom Holland recently revealed his favourite Spider-Man film, and it may surprise you to hear it isn’t one from his trilogy.
Since his debut as Spider-Man in Captain America 3: Civil War, Tom Holland has starred in six MCU films as everyone’s favourite wall-crawler, and he doesn’t plan on stopping anytime soon. He’s even gotten the chance to fight alongside the OG live-action Spidey, Tobey Maguire, and the amazing Spider-Man, Andrew Garfield in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
His journey as the webhead isn’t stopping there though, as his next big-screen outing, Spider-Man 4, is currently in the early stages of development, and it’s more than likely he’ll be making a few more appearances in other future MCU projects.

In current news though, Holland recently sat down for an interview with Variety, where he was asked what his favourite Spidey film is, and while his answer wasn’t unjustified, it was surprising to say the least.
Holland said “I think the first ‘Spider-Verse’ movie is the best Spider-Man movie that’s ever been made … I’m so proud of everyone involved. [Producer] Amy Pascal is like my mom. I was supposed to go with her [to the premiere of Across the Spider-Verse] as her date, I couldn’t go because I’m here working. But I’m incredibly proud of them, I’m excited for the second one. I’m sure it will live up to every expectation, and I can’t wait to see it.”
Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse was, and still is, a brilliant film, with the recently released sequel Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse thoroughly expanding on what made the first film spectacular. We called it “the greatest superhero sequel of all time” in our review, which you should absolutely check out. Maybe when Holland gets a chance to watch the sequel it’ll become his new favourite?
One thing is certain though, he wants to be included in the third film, as he went on to say: "Love them and I'm just waiting for the phone call … Guys, call us. Put us in your movie, we want to be in it.”
Little is known about the Spider-Man 4, other than the fact it’s being planned, though Holland said talks about the project are currently being put on hold due to the current writer’s strike. It’s not the first MCU project to fall victim to the strike, as the Daredevil TV series, Deadpool 3 and other projects are also facing development delays due to the strike.

While Tom Holland’s future as Spider-Man is shrouded in secrecy, at least we can say he’s got phenomenal taste in Spider-Man films, and it’d be great to see him make a cameo appearance in the next animated adventure, titled Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse.
