Both of Marvel’s Spider-Men, Peter Parker and Miles Morales, will be swinging their way onto a new platform in 2025 - but it’s not all good news.

As revealed on the official PlayStation Twitter account, Insomniac Games’ sequel Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be hitting PCs on the 30th of January next year.

The original game first hit PlayStation consoles back in October 2023, so the re-release marks the first time it will see a release on a non-Sony platform.

It’ll be joining both the first game in the series (2018’s Marvel's Spider-Man) and its spin-off (2020’s Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales), both of which saw PC releases back in 2022.

The performance of the PC ports for both titles was generally well-received, so it should stand to reason that the PC re-release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 should also be pretty solid.

For context, the PC version of Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered is currently sitting at a score of 87/100 on Metacritic.

Sony also revealed that both Insomniac Games and Nixxes Software are back to work on the PC port. Nixxes Software also helped develop both of the ports for Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered and Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

However, it’s not all good news. Insomniac Games' Senior Community Manager Aaron Jason Espinoza confirmed in a blog post detailing the announcement that, unfortunately, no DLC content is being planned for the game.

“While we have no additional story content planned for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2,” noted Espinoza, “we’re delighted to bring all of our previously released post-launch content to the PC version, including New Game+, new suits and color variants, Photo Mode features, and more.”

This all but confirms that, as many have suspected, Insomniac Games have likely moved to a Venom-focused spin-off title.

As Forbes’ Paul Tassi explains, the Insomniac Games leak back in December 2023 revealed that they seem to have toyed with the idea of a Venom title - which the studio has assumedly moved onto following the cancellation of the leaked DLC plans for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
