Earlier this year, Insomniac Games confirmed that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 would be receiving no post-launch DLC.
I can only assume that this is a consequence of the major leak suffered by Insomniac Games in December of last year which revealed the studio’s upcoming roadmap.
You don’t need to know anything about the leak though to know that DLC was originally on the way.

That was confirmed by the game itself which used its side quests, much like the original Marvel’s Spider-Man, to set up 3 DLC quests.
The first would’ve centred around Carnage, the second around Chameleon, and the third around the concept of the Spider-Verse.
Unfortunately, those are no longer coming our way - perhaps instead being rolled into Marvel’s Spider-Man 3?
It would be a shame to lose all that content which had assuredly been in the works for some time?

It’s not total doom and gloom for Marvel’s Spider-Man fans though, as the acclaimed sequel is finally launching on PC next month.
Take a look at Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 in action below.
Insomniac Games has taken to Twitter to reaffirm that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be launching on PC on 30 January 2025.

In fact, if you pre-order the game now, you’ll receive some bonus items.
Those are the Arachknight Suit as an early unlock for Peter with three colour variants, the Shadow-Spider Suit as an early unlock for Miles with three colour variants, the Web Grabber gadget as an early unlock, and 3 Skill Points.
You’ll get all of these things eventually anyway so it’s not the best pre-order incentive on earth, but it’s there if you want it.
The PC version has been made in partnership with Nixxes, who most recently worked on Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered - and did an excellent job.

“We are excited to continue this collaboration and bring Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 to PC with a suite of enhanced features, including enhanced ray-tracing options, to take full advantage of a variety of setups and configurations. Stay tuned for more details on features and recommended specs closer to launch,” said Nixxes’ community manager Julian Huijbregts.
The end of the year is almost upon us, so it won’t be long until those on PC can experience this epic chapter in Peter and Miles’ tale.
