Tom Holland is well known as a loveable cheeky chappy. From his time spent flipping and quipping through the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Spider-Man, the world has come to love and cherish him. Odds are that if you were having a cuppa with your nan, she’d call him a very nice boy and then ask what you’re doing with your life at the moment and why aren’t you as successful as him. Cheers nan.

Holland’s upcoming movie Uncharted is, as we gamers already know, a live-action adaptation of developer Naughty Dog’s iconic treasure hunting series of the same name, where Tom plays the eponymous Nathan Drake as he swashbuckles around the globe.

In a recent interview with GameSpot, Tom is asked which other video game series he’d like to take to the big screen and the answer is rather surprising. “I would like to make a Jak and Daxter movie, and I would play Jak,” he says. “But I would make it at A24, so it was really weird and like dark. I would do like a really weird, live-action version of Jak and Daxter.”

Right. So for those that don’t know, A24 is the studio behind such wholesome family films as Midsommar, Hereditary and The Witch. Truly, all masterpieces but very, very different from the kinds of films you’d expect to see Tom starring in.

I would certainly be keen to see him try his hand at something totally out of left field, so why not? The only real question would be, who’s going to play Daxter? Holland is starring alongside Mark Walhberg in Uncharted, but personally I think Kevin Hart would be phenomenal as the Ottsel sidekick. Make it happen.

Of course this wouldn’t be Naughty Dog’s first foray into taking their properties from game to screen, as their smash hit The Last Of Us is currently being adapted into a series to air on HBO, likely in 2023. It’s due to wrap filming in June of this year so, who knows. Tom might get his wish sooner rather than later.
