Geralt of Rivia has become one of the most beloved characters, not only in video games, but in popular culture.
On a recent trip to Poland, I was told by so many developers just how important Geralt, The Witcher, and the original books by Andrzej Sapkowski, are to everyone across the country.
This passion and fascination covers the globe as more and more people discover the books, the games by CD Projekt RED, and the Netflix TV show.

Over the years, players, readers, and viewers, have wanted to know more and more about the brooding hero, and a new book from author Sapkowski will delve into the younger days of Geralt.
The Witcher: Crossroads of Ravens will follow a much younger Geralt, at only 18 years old, as he is taken under the wing of another Witcher, Preston Holt.
Of course, there will be plenty of monsters slain, but most fans want to know what makes Geralt tick, and even how old he actually is, a fact that has long eluded us.
The cover of the book, as reported by ComicBook, gives us a glimpse of a younger hero, still with his white hair, a product of the mutagen within his system.

His face is much softer, though retains sharp angles, he’s unblemished by scars, and looks quite noble in the reveal.

The English translation of the book has been in the works for a while, and it should give us something to tide us over until the fourth game in the series emerges.
If you want more of The Witcher and simply can’t wait until the next season of the Netflix show, this is the perfect way to get what you need.

Whether we’ll ever see more of a younger Geralt is yet to be announced, but we’d be surprised if there isn’t more adventures of a more novice Witcher.
