We’re all eagerly awaiting more information on CD Projekt RED’s The Witcher 4 - and admittedly, we’ve probably still got a fair bit longer to wait. In the meantime though, one fan has imagined what it would be like if Ciri was the protagonist, and it’s something we’ve all been clamouring for for years.
The Witcher 4 isn’t the only new Witcher game on the way. Last year, CD Projekt RED confirmed that The Witcher 4 will kickstart a brand new trilogy (codenamed Polaris), plus there’s a standalone titled (codenamed Canis Majoris), a multiplayer title (Sirius), in addition to the remake of the original The Witcher. I say The Witcher 4, but that’s not technically it’s name according to devs - even though it is “the next instalment in The Witcher series of games.” It’s led people to assume that although the game will follow on from The Witcher 3, it may feature a new protagonist - namely Ciri.
We’ve always thought that Ciri deserves her own game. Take a look why below.
We’re not the only ones who would love to play a Ciri-centric game. As reported by The Gamer, Reddit user Pufacosplay posted a concept screenshot created by their husband which imagined The Witcher 4’s UI with Ciri as the protagonist. They wrote, “My husband made the interface concept for Witcher 4 (He is a UI/UX engineer). What do you think about it?” Needless to say, fans are hoping the real game resembles something like this.

User jad-dee95 wrote, “Really hope we get to play as Ciri in the next game. Her powers are cool as s**t.” I quite agree - although seeing as Ciri isn’t technically a Witcher, I’m curious to see how they’d make it work. It would be fun to see a whole game dedicated to exploring the power’s that Ciri does have.
We don’t know when The Witcher 4 is scheduled to release but CDPR CEO Adam Kiciński recently told investors, “We want to release three big Witcher games within six years, starting from the release of Polaris, which is Witcher 4.” It stands to reason then that we could see the title land in the next two years potentially.
