The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is one of the most beloved RPGs there ever was, and fans are always looking at new ways to expand on its universe.
Inspired by the Andrzej Sapkowski novels, developed by CD Projekt Red and released in 2015, The Witcher 3 soon became popular not only with loyal fans of the video game series, but also those that had never even played the previous two games.

In The Witcher 3, you play as Geralt of Rivia, a monster slayer for hire in the lands of the Continent, a place of war, riches, poverty and political portrayal that would even put the likes of Game of Thrones’ Westeros to shame.

The popularity of The Witcher franchise would outreach the world of video games and novels, wandering into the lands of board games, animations as well as a live-action TV series on Netflix.
To capitalise on both the popularity of The Witcher 3 and the Netflix series, it was announced that not only would the game be getting a free next-gen update for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, but we will also be treated to free DLC inspired by the Netflix series. This free DLC would also extend to the Nintendo Switch port. Sadly, while PC, PlayStation and Xbox had received the Netflix-inspired DLC already, Switch players were left waiting. Thankfully that wait is now over. As they say “patience is a virtue,” apparently.
This week, CDPR released patch 4.04 which fixed a number of reported bugs across all formats and made quality of life improvements, as well as issues related to ray-tracing. Oh and as an added convenience, the Nintendo Switch port will now benefit from cross-progression by linking your save to a GOG account.
Furthermore, by linking your save to the GOG account to benefit from cross-progression, you will also be treated to the following rewards:

Elsewhere in the world of The Witcher, the final season starring Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia has begun on Netflix, before Liam Hemsworth takes over the roll. Cavill’s final and third season is split into two parts. Part one consists of five episodes and has been available since 29 June 2023.
