The fourth season of The Mandalorian is currently in production, spotted in the latest list of Production Weekly projects.
Of course, this is cheering news following a two-year drought of The Mandalorian on the small screen as it is one of the most engaging Star Wars spinoffs. The third season is arriving in February 2023, having shaken off the slew of controversies surrounding actor Gina Carano, and from the looks of the leaked trailer, will delve into the rift between Din Djarin and Bo-Katan.

As noted by Inverse, the fact that production is underway is not an indicator that we'll get both season three and season four of The Mandalorian in 2023. It's not out of the question but it's better to not hold out hope and avoid disappointment. That's the true lesson of Star Wars.

Beyond what we can see in a crispy trailer, what will we expect from the third season? In an interview with Total Film, Pedro Pascal revealed that his character will be pushed into roles of responsibility that he's not signed up for. "If he is stepping into a leadership position, he’s reluctant to do so," said the actor. "I don't think that there's anything more interesting than a character being forced into discovering what they're capable of, and who they are. That part has been really, really fun. Also, from my point of view, there's so many searchable ways to find the tonality of that. I just tried to achieve the subtleties of that kind of character development.”
