The Last Of Us' new first-person concept works way too well

One fan has created concept screenshots showing what The Last of Us Part I would look like as an FPS game, and we need it to be a thing.

The Last of Us Part I is out now on PC, and despite its PS5 version being an absolutely exceptional title and easily the best way to experience the game, this release has completely missed the mark.

Immediately upon release, players were greeted with terrible visual bugs, crashes, and very poor optimisation. A hotfix was quickly rolled out, which should hopefully have fixed a lot of these things, but it was still a very unfortunate start for what should have been an exciting port.

Take a look at the trailer for The Last of Us Part I’s PC version below.

Although I’m not a PC player myself, I’ve been incredibly excited to see what cursed mods the community will come up with to alter the game. It can’t be too long until Shrek, Thomas the Tank Engine and Homer Simpson make their way in somehow.

Over on Twitter, one fan has come up with a concept for the game that seriously needs to be turned into a proper mod as soon as possible. Created by @Ceraphyte, behold: The Last of Us Part I with a first-person camera option.

Until now, both Part I and Part II have only been playable from a third-person perspective, so seeing them like this is really cool and it’s clear to see that it’d work really well. Imagine how terrifying the sections with Stalkers and Bloaters would be in first-person? Genuine nightmare fuel. Even so, it’d be an incredible new way to experience the game.

Unfortunately, for now, this is just a concept and isn’t a mod that you can actually try. Give it some time though, and it’ll probably happen - the PC version has only been out for a couple of days, so modders are likely frantically working on all sorts of good stuff like this as we speak.
