The Elder Scrolls 6 newest teaser slammed by unhappy fans

The Elder Scrolls 6 newest teaser slammed by unhappy fans

This is not the way to build hype

With this year being the year Bethesda celebrated its 30th anniversary of The Elder Scrolls, fans hoped the announcement would come alongside some The Elder Scrolls VI news.

However, that was seemingly not the case.

It may be hard to believe but 2024 marks the 30th anniversary of The Elder Scrolls franchise kicking off.

With multiple entries loved and played by fans over the past three decades, it is no wonder that the same fans are desperate to hear an update on the next instalment.

At the moment, we know very little.

We do know that The Elder Scrolls VI was first announced in 2018 during Bethesda's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) conference.

The same announcement was accompanied by a 40-second long teaser trailer which showed us a pretty landscape and the title ‘The Elder Scrolls VI’.

Other than that, we have received nothing else over the past six years.

So it is perhaps no wonder that fans are feeling a bit frustrated with Bethesda’s lack of updates.

Matters were made worse earlier this year when Bethesda took to Twitter to thank fans for supporting 30 years of The Elder Scrolls.

In a statement, the company dedicated a very small section to TES VI.

Last but not least, yes, we are in development on the next chapter - The Elder Scrolls VI.

Even now, returning to Tamriel and playing early builds has us filled with the same joy, excitement and promise of adventure.”

As you can imagine, fans were less than pleased.

“Man, Elder Scrolls 6 was announced almost six years ago at this point. And after Starfield, which I still liked despite its many flaws, I remain skeptical that they even remember what made their games so great.”

Another comment read: “The only reason they bothered to announce ES6 is because at the time, everyone wouldn’t stop asking them about it 24/7.

It was less “check out this cool game we’re making” and more “for the love of god please shut up about ES6 obviously we’re gonna make another one”.

It remains to be seen if Bethesda will release a detailed update about the project anytime soon but with fans losing hope, it couldn’t be too soon.
