It has been seven years since The Elder Scrolls VI was first teased on the stage at E3, amidst a showing which also gave us Fallout 76.
So much time has passed; E3 no longer exists, we had an entire global pandemic, and an entirely new console generation, and still Bethesda is cooking away in the background.
It’s hard to believe it has been so long, and the wait only seems to be getting longer, as Bethesda didn’t show anything of The Elder Scrolls VI at Sumer Games Fest, either.

Now, it seems, fans are starting to get more frustrated than ever, with many of them taking to Reddit to express their feelings.
“Man, I’m honestly kind of angry that it’s taking over a decade,” said the title of one Reddit thread.
“It’s hard to believe with how incredibly successful Skyrim was that they just wait over a decade before releasing a sequel,” reads one of the many replies to the original point of frustration.
It appears the source of the upset isn’t in how long it has taken to make the game since its reveal, but in how long it has been since Skyrim, which is currently 14 years.

In another Reddit post, one fan said they are “Unreasonably Disappointed,” stating that they’re “just so disappointed in how things have been developing around BGS – especially since XBOX bought them.”
It’s understandable to be disappointed in not seeing such an anticipated game get shown at a big event, and this user owns that disappointment.
It’s a shame we haven’t seen more of the game, but at least we know it’s definitely on the way, and it’s likely to be just as brilliant as Skyrim was.
As this other Redditor says, “It sucks, but everyone else is right there with you. On the bright side, we'll probably see it release within 2–3 years.”
