On 11 June 2018, Bethesda announced its “next chapter” by which the studio was referring to The Elder Scrolls VI.
I remember it like it was yesterday.
A misty mountain view that cleared to reveal a great expanse as the logo for The Elder Scrolls VI appeared on the screen.

If you told me back then that six years later that teaser trailer would remain all I’d seen of The Elder Scrolls VI, I don’t think I’d have believed you.
The game’s lack of release is one thing, but the fact that Bethesda hasn’t even dropped a crumb in the way of a teaser or screenshot since 2018 is quite astonishing.
Do you think they recall that it’s their “next chapter”?
The studio still seemingly remains dead set on prolonging the life of Starfield.

It was assumed that the vast majority of the studio’s manpower now might’ve shifted over to The Elder Scrolls VI but with a second Starfield expansion reportedly in the works, that may not actually be the case.
Here it is. That infamous reveal trailer.
The Elder Scrolls VI’s reveal trailer recently passed a rather major milestone.

It’s now older than Skyrim was when the trailer was first dropped in 2018.
At that point in time in 2018, Skyrim was 2,403 days old, or six years, seven months, and three days.
The Elder Scrolls VI’s trailer is now older than that, having surpassed the milestone last month - a fact that’s left fans, well, in despair.
“Just give us a little sneak peak,” wrote Twitter user FrostzMonkey.

“I was a freshman in high school for this announcement,” added Vadam_44. “I’m graduating college this spring.”
Surely, this is the year that Bethesda finally lifts the lid on the project?
I don’t think we should necessarily expect the actual game to land this year, but it must be nearing a state of re-reveal.
We can only hope.
