Henry Cavill is Superman once more, and as the DCU shifts into a new era that will usher in a much more coherent set of films, eyes are peeled to see if any of Cavill's co-stars will come back to their characters. Amy Adams, who has played Lois Lane since Man of Steel, recently revealed that she would be ready to step into Lois' shoes, on one small condition.
Adams is an astonishingly accomplished actress, possessing six Academy Award nominations across films like The Fighter, Vice, American Hustle and other critical successes. Playing Lois Lane was her first foray into the superhero genre and though she enjoyed acting side-by-side with Henry Cavill, she admitted that the character felt less like an individual in the plot and more like a function for the plot in the Superman series.

Now, in an interview for Variety during the premiere for Disenchanted, she praised Cavill's "exciting" return to the cape and spandex and expressed interest in reprising her role if the casting companies give her the green light. "I’m thrilled for him," she said on the red carpet. "He’s such a wonderful Superman so I’m very excited for him." When the interviewer hinted that she might have been in discussions with Warner Bros too, the actress clarified that she hadn't.
“They haven’t spoken to me about it,” replied Adams. “If it’s me, great. If it’s somebody else, the role of Lois has been filled by so many wonderful actresses in the past so I’ll support whatever direction they go.” As the future of Superman is going to be "enormously joyful," according to Cavill, perhaps we would see a different Lois to the one that accompanied Superman in the Snyder films.
