Batman: Arkham Knight cut content set to return after 10 years

Hard to believe this was just sitting in the game's files the whole time

One ridiculously talented modder has managed to add a piece of Batman: Arkham Knight cut content back into the game, and fans of Batman: Arkham City are going to be thrilled.

I know people have a few issues with Batman: Arkham Knight, but personally, it’s my favourite entry in the series for one, sole reason: the combat.

I get that some of you hate the Batmobile segments, and I’d be the first to admit that the story in Batman: Arkham City is way better, but I think the little improvements that Rocksteady made to the combat just push it slightly over the edge for me.

That being said, it’s not perfect… mostly because it’s missing one combat ability that was present in both Batman: Arkham Origins and Batman: Arkham City: the Bat Swarm ability.

In Batman: Arkham Knight, this ability was replaced with the Multi-Batarang takedown, but let’s be real– that’s not as cool as summoning dozens of bats around you to attack your enemies.

Well, someone has managed to add it back into the game, because it turns out it was just sitting in the game’s files the entire time.

As detailed in GPUnity’s latest video, the modder found a way to add the Bat Swarm ability back to Batman’s ability menu, but couldn’t actually find a way to make it trigger… until now.

After some tinkering, GPUnity managed to fully integrate the ability into the full game, although this did come at the cost of replacing the Multi-Batarang takedown ability.

As they state in their video, the mod isn’t actually available for download yet. GPUnity noted that they still need to do a few tweaks, such as adding a video to the Bat Swarm’s icon screen in the menu, before it's fully complete.

However, it sounds like they’re 95% of the way there to me, so I highly suggest keeping an eye on their YouTube channel for further updates.
