A new game has been revealed that looks to mix together Studio Ghibli and Stardew Valley.
The title appears to mix the animation style of classic Studio Ghibli pictures, such as Spirited Away, with the mechanical underbelly of a game like Stardew Valley, that being the ability to manage your own fixed location and get to know various people who pass through your hotel. The title will be available across PlayStation, Xbox, Switch and PC, with no set platforms for the PlayStation or Xbox specified, so the title could still come to last generation systems for players who haven't yet made the leap to new-gen hardware.
Under The Island is yet another wholesome release that we're keeping an eye on.
"Hotel Galactic is the project that utilises everything we've learned in the last 10 years or so. We aimed to create a wholesome and engaging experience for players that love to watch their simulated little dudes end up in all kind of weird situations. Personally, I can't wait to see what the world thinks of what we've been working on for the past three years," Ancient Forge CEO and creative director Dushan Chaciej said in a press release.

"It's an idea that's been percolating for a couple of years in pre-production, as we took our time to make sure the design and all its constituent parts meshed well to creature this beautiful, nostalgic world. The technical demands were substantial, but the end result in a dynamic, immersive experience that I'm proud to share," Ancient Forge vice president and technical director Maksymillian Strezelecki added in the same press release.
The official Kickstarter for the game will be kicking off next month, on 9 July. There's currently no available target goal for the game, and we're also unable to see the various tiers of support for the title, but it's likely that at least one tier (or even more) will give early access to the game.
