Netflix is one of the biggest streaming services on the planet, so when a series becomes its most-watched, it’s a big deal.
One of the biggest exclusive series on Netflix is Stranger Things, which is coming to an end soon with its fifth and final season. When that time comes, Netflix will need a new series to fill that void and it seems that void may already have been filled.
As reported by our friends at UNILAD, the series in question is The Addams Family inspired Wednesday starring the brilliant Jenna Ortega. Stranger Things season four has generated 140 million views while the debut season of Wednesday has now generated a whopping 252 million views, taking the crown. Netflix now works out views by dividing hours viewed by total runtime. It previously went by hours viewed alone, allowing Stranger Things to retain its title.

Season two of Wednesday is on the way.
“Follow Wednesday Addams' years as a student, when she attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a killing spree, and solve the mystery that embroiled her parents,” reads the synopsis for season one. “A sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams' years as a student at Nevermore Academy.”
We do know for sure that a second season of Wednesday is on the way, as confirmed by Netflix earlier in the year. “Wednesday has been officially renewed for Season 2,” tweeted the official account. At this time, we don’t know when season two of Wednesday will arrive, but it is expected to launch sometime in early 2024. As for season five of Stranger Things, that too is expected to release next year at the very earliest.

In other Netflix news, the trailer for season two of Squid Game has dropped as well as the live-action adaptation of the One Piece anime series, which has seriously divided the opinion of fans.
