PlayStation Plus is the gift that keeps on giving and it’s getting even better with a fantastic new addition.
Rogue-like is a genre that offers the kind of replay value that not many others can. Players are often faced with permadeath and procedurally generated maps making each playthrough different from the last.
One such rogue-like is from indie developers Cellar Door Games and it’s called Rogue Legacy 2. This charming action-adventure RPG has garnered scores as high as 90 on Metacritic, earning the distinction “Must Play” on Xbox.
“In this game, your legacy defines you. Spend your parents’ inheritance and grow the family manor to give your children a better fighting chance. Each child is unique, with their own traits and abilities,” reads the game's official description.

It continues: “Your daughter could be a Ranger. She could also be vegan. It’s a new experience every time. Rogue Legacy 2 also lets you play how you want to. Go hard and fast, and dive deeper into the depths of a randomly-generated world. Or take it slow and steady and build your character up until you’re ready for greater challenges.”
On Steam, Rogue Legacy 2 is also proving to be a hit with the community with “Very Positive” reviews from users. “I have to recommend this gem of a roguelite,” said HollowHead. “Pristine game, much, much better than Rogue Legacy 1. Fantastic DA and graphics, spells and animations are perfectly well designed,” explained Gabriel Knight.
Already available for PC and Xbox, PlayStation gamers can soon see what all the fuss is about when Rogue Legacy 2 comes to the Sony platform next week on 20 June. Better still, it’s even launching on PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium, as part of the PS Plus June 2023 line-up. What’s more, Rogue Legacy 2 is crossplay enabled for all available platforms.
In related PlayStation Plus news, it’s been revealed that Stray is PS Plus Extras' most-played game ever, obviously!
