What started off as a typical bank holiday Monday here in the U.K suddenly took a surprise turn after Steam dropped one of 2024’s most anticipated games with no warning.
If you have had more than a 10-minute conversation with me over the last year, you would know that I have been eagerly awaiting the release of Hades 2.

Following on from the test period the Supergiant Games title recently experienced courtesy of Steam, fans were under the impression that the full Hades 2 early access release would be “some time” during 2024.
What none of us expected was for Hades 2 to randomly drop last night with no warning from Supergiant.
As you can imagine, panic and excitement ensued with millions of fans rushing to Steam to download the game which was a steal at £24.99.
Much like its predecessor Hades, Hades 2 will remain in early access for the majority of 2024 which will allow the team to continue working on the game with the help of feedback from players.

However, Hades 2 “already includes more environments, foes and fully-voiced characters than the full version of the original game” according to Supergiant Games. If you have played Hades, you will know how impressive this is for an early access title.
Perhaps as a result, Hades 2 is already sitting at an ‘overwhelmingly positive’ rating on Steam with players praising its overall improvements all whilst keeping the magic of the original.
With the early access title now in people’s hands, it remains to be seen how it will be received but it is no denying that Hades 2 is already shaping up to be a strong 2024 game of the year contender.
