RPG fans that have spent a lot of their lifetime switching between Stardew Valley and Pokémon should make sure they don’t miss out on an epic new RPG courtesy of developers Drattzy Games LLC.
Alterium Shift is a JRPG adventure game that is not only available now, but it is available to get your hands on for free courtesy of Steam. Set in the world of Alteria, you will embark on a journey across the land, taking on “epic quests, unique turn-based combat and choice-driven storylines” according to the official synopsis.

The retro-inspired pixel-art inspired by classics such as Pokémon make this RPG perfect to replay when the mood takes you with Alterium Shift offering three branching narratives and unforgettable characters. The characters themselves each have their own skills and elemental powers such as Pyra, a strict and loyal leader, Atlas, a young and nimble archer or Sage, a talented weaver of Alterium Essence.

However, not all characters can advance into certain areas which makes switching between them crucial. Pyra can slice through rocks and Atlas is best at far-range combat so you will have to consider strategy as you explore Alteria.
With fun mini-games to break up the main quests and even fishing which Stardew Valley fans would appreciate, Alterium Shift will take your every choice into account and will eventually shape the outcome of the story.
With unique turn-based combat and a large map to explore, it is no wonder that Alterium Shift is currently sitting at a “mostly positive” rating on Steam. One review for the indie title read: “The game offers a lot, even where it stands today on early access. If you are a fan of SNES RPGs or 2.5D graphics, then say no more, this is the game for you! With friendly/talented developers listening to feedback, this game offers and is capable of so much potential.”
