I love me some Pokémon, and I can't get enough of Dungeons & Dragons. If you're anything like me, you'll probably want to check out this gorgeous new Steam game. There's even a dash of Hogwarts Legacy in there, if that's really your cup of tea.
Dicefolk is a charming new indie from LEAP Game Studios and Tiny Ghoul. It actually only came out this week, but it already has rave reviews from Steam users. Better yet, you can check out a free demo if you're not entirely sold on the look of the game. Although how could you not be?
"Wield magical dice and build a team of powerful Chimeras to stop a mysterious evil in this tactical roguelite adventure," reads the game's description. "As a Chimera Summoner, recruit and create your perfect team of mythical beasts and command them to victory using unique dice mechanics."

The Pokémon influences are obvious, in that you build up your own team of monsters to fight with. But where a lot of Pokémon-inspired games offer up some truly awful designs, Dicefolk's clean artstyle has a ton of really memorable looking critters to collect. The fantasy realm and dice-based combat also vaguely recall Dungeons & Dragons, while there are dashes of Harry Potter and Hogwarts Legacy in the mythical beasts.
Dicefolk is currently very highly rated on Steam, with users praising the game's replayability, unique systems, fun monster designs, and overall good vibes. Because why would you waste time on a game with bad vibes? You wouldn't. Don't be silly.
You can check out the free demo for Dicefolk over here. You can pick up the game for just over £12, which is an absolute steal. Or, if you'd rather, you can get it in a bundle with the equally brilliant Monster Train for £30. Not too shabby. Not too shabby at all.
