The final countdown to Bethesda’s upcoming space epic Starfield is on. Earlier this year, it was unveiled that the game is due to release on 6 September on Xbox Series X/S consoles and PC. At tonight’s Xbox Showcase, we received a fresh look at the game thanks to the new story trailer - and the ‘Starfield Direct’, but we’ll dive into that in due course.
We already knew that Starfield would be massive. It’s previously been teased that the game will have over 1,000 planets to explore - a dizzying thought. Developers also confirmed that the game will have more dialogue than Skyrim and Fallout 4 combined, which means a minimum of 250,000 lines. There’s one thing I’m certain about. We’re going to be playing this game for a loooooooong time. We’re still going to be finding easter eggs and fun details in a decade, aren’t we? Well, enough chatting. You want to know what was unveiled tonight don’t you? Let’s dive in.
Take a look at the brand new trailer for Starfield below.
We knew that Starfield would look great but that trailer is positively top-notch. Incredible graphics, a compelling story, an expansive open world .. What more could you want? Up to now, Bethesda have been keeping Starfield’s story under wraps, but no longer. According to the latest trailer, Starfield centres around the organisation Constellation: a group whose mission it is to protect the galaxy. You will portray a new Constellation recruit as the group sets out to uncover the secrets behind a mysterious threat that poses a risk to human life. Admittedly, yes, Bethesda is still keeping secrets.
