Starfield has hit PlayStation 5 thanks to the efforts of fans everywhere. Kind of.
Starfield is finally available worldwide, and aside from the usual case of review bombing that comes with every AAA release these days, Bethesda's latest has earned a lot of critical acclaim. Here at GAMINGbible we gave it a 10/10, and even some lower scores from other outlets have done little to bring down a largely impressive Metacritic score, which has ranked lower than Skyrim, but higher than Fallout 4.

One of the tragic realities of Starfield is that it's not available on PlayStation 5. The good news? Some fans have taken steps to remedy that... after a fashion.

One of the many, many mods already available for Starfield turns Bethesda's space adventure into a PlayStation 5 game by... adding the Playstation Studios intro in at the start of the game. Yes, the same intro that you see at the start of games like Ghost Of Tsushima and Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Incredible stuff. Whack that mod on and pick up your DualSense controller and you might as well be playing Starfield on your PlayStation, right? In some ways. Sort of. Maybe.
If you'd like to take things one step further, you can grab EASKATER's PS5 Icons mod, which swaps the Xbox button prompts for PlayStation buttons. The lengths some people are going to to pretend this game is on PlayStation is... honestly kind of impressive.
As for whether Starfield will ever officially land on PlayStation 5? Well, it's highly unlikely. Both Bethesda and Microsoft have made it clear they have no intention of bringing the game to Sony's console, and with over six million players already on PC and Xbox, there's absolutely no business reason for it to ever come to PS5.
