It has almost been a year since Starfield was released for the Xbox Series X/S.

However PlayStation users are wondering when it is their time to get their hands on the latest Bethesda RPG.

Luckily, it seems as though it won’t be long as according to one industry insider, Starfield may be joining the likes of Forza Horizon 5 and leaving Xbox exclusivity soon.

That means the space-themed RPG will be heading to the PlayStation 5 so a whole new group of players can decide if it really deserves its mixed reviews.

Since its launch in September last year, Starfield has been met with pretty harsh criticisms with many pointing out its empty worlds and generic story.

However, with its Shattered Space DLC arriving soon, it may just be the boost the Bethesda title needs.

The news of a potential PlayStation 5 port was revealed when the rumour dropped of a “big” Xbox exclusive heading to the Sony console.

With Microsoft “experimenting” with releasing its exclusive Xbox games more regularly, it wouldn’t be too surprising that Starfield became its latest test subject.

This would make even more sense considering the previous Xbox exclusive Sea of Thieves ended up becoming one of PlayStation’s best-selling games.

According to insider Shinobi, Xbox will announce the next big game heading to PlayStation as early as next week.

With next week also being the same week of Gamescom, it isn’t too far-fetched to think the announcement could happen then.

Until then, we can remain hopeful that Starfield will soon be heading to the PlayStation 5.

With Bethesda hard at work on both The Elder Scrolls VI and Fallout 5, it seems that the studio has a lot on its plates.

So let us then hope Starfield’s potential move to the PlayStation is a smooth one.
