Have you ever wanted to be a lethal samurai in space? If that has been your random fantasy adventure, then you’re in luck.
Starfield, the upcoming sci-fi RPG from Bethesda promises to be one of the biggest open-world games in years. Quite literally in fact boasting the largest city that Bethesda has ever created and a galaxy with over 1000 planets for players to explore. That said, only 10% of those planets will have meaningful signs of life.

As we lead up to the release of Starfield, fans are learning more about its new features that perhaps weren't initially noticed in the recent 45-minute Direct deepdive. Such as its Photo Mode taking the feature to the next level or in the case of today’s story, being a space Samurai.

“I just know a good majority of the player base will pick this background 😅 space samurai,” suggested Redditor user Jack0Blad3s. I mean, to be fair, who wouldn't want to be a space samurai?
Amongst the list of classes other than samurai (Ronin), are the likes of Beast Hunter, Bounty Hunter, Combat Medic, Cyber Runner, Gangster, Pilgrim and Chef. Though the last two probably aren't what we’d assume them to be.

“A Ronin is just a wandering samurai with no master. It's probably more of a mercenary-type background rather than an actual samurai, though that would be cool,” replied Eric_T_Meraki. “I certainly will. If Cyberpunk 2077 taught me anything, it was that there are few problems in life that can’t be dealt with by a blade-wielding cyber samurai,” added Stupid_Jackal.
“Wake the f*** up samurai, we've got a galaxy to burn,” said Daemon-Blackbrier, making a reference to CD Projekt Red’s own sci-fi RPG, Cyberpunk 2077.
Starfield will be released on 6 September 2023 for PC and Xbox Series X|S. Unless you pre-order the Premium or Constellation Edition, in which case it will be 1 September. Starfield will also launch day one on Xbox Game Pass.
