Starfield quietly releases new update you can claim now

A subtle update with big changes

Say what you will about Starfield, but Bethesda keeps trying to improve the game despite the backlash it’s experienced.

Regardless of your personal thoughts about the game, Bethesda has continuously tried to enhance players’ experience when playing Starfield.

It’s led to a slow but noticeable change in how gamers feel towards the game.

When GAMINGbible’s Kate Harrold checked out the upcoming DLC for the game, she remarked on how it’s “hand-crafted new world signals a bright future”.

This new update isn’t quite as impressive as the DLC promises to be, however, it’s added some highly requested quality-of-life changes.

Although the developers aren’t shouting from the rooftops about this patch, it’s quite a hefty one for bug fixes.

We won’t bog you down with all the details, just a brief overview of what you can expect. For the full patch notes, head to the Bethesda website.

  • Creation Kit: The automated process used to create models for Distant LOD is now available
  • General performance and stability improvements
  • Resolved an issue that limited the number of loaded creations to 255
  • Lighting changes and enhancements have been made throughout the game
  • Made several visual improvements and bug fixes for weapon models
  • Improved player headtracking when exiting dialogue
  • The player's camera should no longer be jostled when jumping
  • The Annihilator Particle Beam damage-over-time effect no longer affects Companions
  • Robots and Turrets will now take damage from EM weapons
  • Crafting: Addressed an issue with The Boom Pop! Dynamite recipe
  • Elite Crew: Autumn Macmillan no longer repeats herself when asking about her sister
  • Addressed an issue with Crowd behavior near The Well elevator in the New Atlantis Spaceport when combat is initiated

There are some who are still moaning about Starfield; however, more players now seem appeased by this update.

“There are some interesting fixes in the patch notes but yeah, over 255 mods is one of the most important besides the automatic LOD generation,” said lord_kosmos.

The update is now live, so make sure to claim it before you set off into space again.
