Starfield free update gets surprise release you can download now

A new content update for Starfield just launched, adding something that should have been in the game from day one.

Players will now be able to cruise across planets and moons in a dune buggy, a godsend one of the biggest problems with the game at launch was how uneventful planetary exploration was.

Check out the trailer for Starfield Shattered Space below!

Despite having a bit of a rocky launch, Starfield is still kicking as Bethesda shifts its focus to The Elder Scrolls VI.

There's even a massive expansion on the way towards the end of the year called Shattered Space, which will add not only a new location to the mix, but also new quests, characters, and presumably new weapons and gadgets.

However one thing that's still missing from the game is better traversal options.

Sure the jetpack is cool, but wandering the planets on foot can get just a tad bit tedious and boring, and it's desperately in need of a revamp.

Bethesda has clearly listened to the feedback though, as you'll never need to use your feet again, and you'll also be able to use the new vehicle in the upcoming Shattered Space expansion.

The trailer was actually quite cute as well, reminiscent of an actual car trailer and featuring some adorable shots of Vasco sitting on the back of the ride.

So when will you be able to drive across Starfield's planetary surfaces? Right now!

The update has dropped right now and can be downloaded to your Xbox and PC versions of the game.

Get cruising folks.
