The game’s creator has gone above and beyond to add even more content to the game than planned, most of which has been cryptically teased on Twitter before making its way into the game. Recently, Stardew Valley's creator, ConcernedApe, shared another update: a captionless image of an in-game sign reading “Happy New Year!” and a cow that’s seemingly predicting the player’s future.
All of this is reportedly part of a new festival making its way into the game celebrating the New Year. Details are slim but if the picture is anything to go off, it’ll involve getting the whole town together to enjoy some merriment and fireworks.
The one image was all the developer was willing to share, but it was more than enough for fans, many of whom wait with bated breath for the next cryptic teaser to roll onto their social feeds.

“Happy new year! I say it every time you tweet, but I am so unbelievably excited for the 1.6 update," wrote one fan. “A New Year’s festival!" another excitedly exclaimed.
A release date for the update wasn’t shared, but it’d be safe to say it’s due to land sometime this month Stardew Valley is currently available on PC via Steam, as well as Nintendo Switch, Xbox and PlayStation consoles. It’s also available on mobile devices.
